Frequently Asked Questions

What is coaching, and how does it work?

Coaching is a dynamic and collaborative process focused on helping individuals identify and achieve their personal, health and professional goals. It involves a series of one-on-one sessions with a trained coach who provides guidance, support, and accountability. Coaches use a variety of techniques and tools to help clients gain clarity, set actionable goals, and develop strategies to overcome challenges. The coaching process is highly personalised, tailored to each individual's unique needs and aspirations, and it empowers clients to make positive changes in their lives.

How long does a typical coaching engagement last?

The duration of a coaching engagement can vary based on individual goals and needs. Some clients find value in a few sessions focused on specific issues or challenges, while others may engage in longer-term coaching to achieve more substantial personal or professional transformations. Typically, a coaching relationship may last anywhere from a few months to a year or longer. It's essential to discuss your objectives and expectations with your coach to determine the best timeline for your coaching journey. I begin all new clients with a block of 6 sessions, taken fortnightly, sometimes weekly, depending upon the client's need.

What makes my approach different from other coaching services?

Many coaches focus on either mindset, the physical body or life goals. I believe in approaching a client as an entire person and use the Kosha framework to help clients address the most pressing areas of need first.

Whilst a person may begin their journey thinking they need "to lose weight" for example, they may have deeper unresolved traumas and limiting beliefs which are driving the weight issue. I help clients to work on aligning all aspects of themselves to create holistic health - their physical body, their emotions, their conscious mind, their subconscious - including patterns of self-sabotage, self-doubt and traumas, and their deepest values and sense of purpose. A truly aligned and integrated human is a being of joy, and the birthright of every one of us.

I bring over 25 years as a spiritual practitioner, experimenter and life-long learner to all my sessions and no two client journeys are ever the same.

ABOUT ME ~ CLAIRE SMEDLEY

I've been a teacher, trainer, coach and author in the wellness industry for nearly 25 years.

My decades long pursuit of understanding the human condition has incorporated science, yoga, yoga philosophy, yoga nidra - the art of deep rest whilst awake, subconscious journeying, trauma-informed breathwork, dismantling beliefs and nutrition. But at the end of the day, fulfilment comes down to living a life of joy and meaning.

I published my first book,

Nutrition~New Story~New You: Cookbook

as a guide for people, like myself, wanting to manage an autoimmune disease naturally, using food as medicine.

My second book,

Living From the Inside Out

is a return to the ancient yogic wisdom of healing a person by addressing all 5 of their layers: the joy layer, the subconscious mind, the thinking mind, the emotions and the physical body. They work together.

Living From the Inside Out is the foundation of my coaching approach and my life.
